PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a woman was shot early Tuesday morning.
Officers responding to March Street around 1:30 a.m. found a man carrying the woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck/face area.
A witness said the woman was inside a black Hyundai when a dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows pulled up and opened fire, shooting two rounds into the driver’s side window before fleeing.

The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the same street where a teenager was shot and killed in a parking lot on April 15.
