
The Rhode Island Department of Education has opened the lottery for free pre-K enrollment across the state for the 2023-24 school year. Over 2,300 slots are available for eligible children who are four years old by September 1 and have parents who are residents of the 18 participating cities and towns. Applications must be submitted online at RIpreK.com by June 18. Rhode Island Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green emphasized the importance of high-quality early learning opportunities and encouraged all eligible families to enter the pre-K lottery. Currently, there are 127 pre-K facilities and programs across the state.
