A man from New Bedford has been given a prison sentence of up to 15 years after he was found guilty of bringing a gun to a children’s trampoline park. Chantra Say, 32, admitted to charges related to the incident which took place on 4 March at Funz Trampoline Park in Massachusetts. Police were alerted by a caller reporting a man carrying a gun. Say had the weapon in a plastic bag and when officers arrived, he attempted to hand it to another person before throwing it in the bin. The weapon was found to be a 9mm pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition. Say, who had initially pleaded not guilty, was convicted of carrying an illegal firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device. The court was told that Say had previously been convicted of assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm.
