UConn earns fifth national title with 76-59 victory over San Diego State in March Madness championship game thanks to Adama Sanogo’s double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Tristen Newton’s 19 points and 10 boards. The Huskies won all six NCAA Tournament games by double digits, becoming the fifth team to do so since the bracket expanded in 1985. Despite San Diego State closing the gap to five in the second half, UConn held on for the win. San Diego State’s Keshad Johnson had 14 points in this, the team’s first trip to the Final Four.
