Multiple crashes occurred on the westbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of one individual. Massachusetts State Police were called to the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m., responding to witness reports that a male suspect was refusing to stop. A pursuit ensued, leading to the suspect crashing and fleeing on foot. The suspect was ultimately apprehended behind a home on Sturbridge Road in Charlton, after running for several miles. Paramedics transported the individual to Harrington Hospital with various injuries. Police found evidence of narcotics and alcohol usage within the suspect’s vehicle, and charges will be filed accordingly, though the suspect’s name, age and hometown remain undisclosed at present.
