The Dartmouth Police arrested two individuals this week for driving a stolen Honda Pilot. While driving in Dartmouth on Thursday, police spotted the car and followed it until it pulled into a Walgreens parking lot on State Road. Melvin Ward and Jessica Fernandes, the two occupants of the car, exited and entered the Walgreens. Upon leaving the store, police searched and found fentanyl on both suspects, as well as stolen property from Walgreens on Ward. Ward has been charged with multiple offenses, including receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a Class A drug (suspected fentanyl), shoplifting (second offense), and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, among others. Fernandes has been charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a Class A drug (suspected fentanyl), and one outstanding warrant.
