The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold a rabbit care and adoption event in East Providence on Sunday. The event at Rumford Pet Express in East Providence will run from 11 am to 2 pm. Several rescued rabbits from Cranston will be available for adoption. The organization highlights an increase in the surrendering of small animals, especially rabbits, and reminds people of the care and responsibility involved in raising a pet. For those who are not ready to take in a live animal yet, small toy stuffed rabbits can be adopted for a $10 donation.
