The Opening Day saw fans returning to Fenway Park and witnessing new rules in effect such as the pitch clock and limits on infield shifts. An instant poll has been provided for fans to share their thoughts on the changes. Some of the new rules for the season include the requirement for pitchers to throw a pitch within 15 seconds (20 seconds when a runner is on base), a 3-inch increase in the size of the bases, and two infielders on each side of the infield during a pitch. Additionally, there are now specific regulations for pickoffs/disengagements, including allowing two disengagements per plate appearance without penalty.
