A Providence police officer, Officer Gerry Kue, has returned to regular duty after being suspended with pay following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a member of the public. The Providence Police Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility conducted an investigation into the allegations and found them to be unfounded. However, Kue was issued an administrative violation for failing to activate his body-worn camera during the interaction. The police department did not disclose the disciplinary action Kue received. Kue was one of the officers who responded to a domestic assault incident in February, and the allegation against him came from a Providence resident who called police to report the incident. The attorney general’s office, which was involved in the investigation, declined to comment.
