One Neighborhood Builders has introduced its “Central Providence Roadmap” in Rhode Island, which aims to establish a united vision for the community. Developed with the input of 60 local organisations and residents across the nine Central Providence neighbourhoods, the roadmap has three core objectives underpinned by six core values: meeting foundational needs, supporting mobility drivers, and building power and capacity. These should help to provide “greater health and economic equity” in the area. One Neighborhood Builders Executive Director Jennifer Hawkins said the roadmap would create a “collective effort” to improve education, affordable housing, job opportunities and health care.
