The Annual Torch Run Plunge, hosted by Special Olympics Rhode Island, took place at Salty Brine State Beach in Narragansett on Sunday, with members from 12 News, including Chief Meteorologist Tony Petrarca and anchor Mike Montecalvo, participating in the event. The plunge raised almost $60,000, exceeding their goal of $50,000, with all funds donated to benefit the Special Olympics Rhode Island. The event featured live music and an after-party at George’s of Galilee, with 12 News sponsoring both the Rhode Island Special Olympics and the Annual Torch Run Plunge.
