Rhode Island FC, the state’s new minor league soccer team, is assuring fans that games will still occur next year despite uncertainty surrounding the construction of their 10,000-seat stadium in Tidewater Landing, Pawtucket. President Brett Luy’s letter to potential season ticket holders emphasized the leadership team’s evaluation of alternative venue options while construction remains uncertain. The stadium project, led by Fortuitous Partners, has hit a bump with public officials putting a temporary hold on issuing $27 million in bonds, with no solid timeline. Despite the setback, both the development company and Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee remain confident that the project will push through.
