Construction work continues at Tidewater Landing in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the future stadium of minor league soccer team Rhode Island FC, despite financial setbacks. City officials have postponed issuing $27 million in public bonds for the stadium project due to uncertain financial conditions. However, Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee remains optimistic about the project’s future and has been in contact with developer Fortuitous Partners, who have so far invested nearly $25 million in the 10,000 seat stadium. State Sen. Sandra Cano, who is also Pawtucket’s director of economic development, stated that the timing is not currently right for taxpayers, and city officials have not yet set a new timeline for closing the deal.
