A new marijuana facility may be coming to Swansea, Massachusetts as a result of a recent special meeting. The meeting’s purpose was to amend zoning laws to allow the establishment to open, and voters were overwhelmingly in favor of the change. The town has now voted to create a Marijuana Establishment Overlay District for two plots of land on Route 6. Northeastcann Inc. has applied for a license to operate a dispensary at the former location of the Suzuki Triumph Dealership. The new district only permits marijuana entities to be built on the land and does not modify current zoning limitations. Nicholas Gomes, the attorney for Northeastcann Inc., believes this location to be the most suitable for the establishment due to its safe access with the existing light system right there.
