The R.I. Attorney General’s office reported that Luke Gedeon, a 45-year-old South Kingstown man, appeared in court on Monday in connection with allegations of several sexual assaults that reportedly occurred over the course of a decade. Gedeon has been charged with five counts of first-degree sexual assault, eight counts of second-degree child molestation, and one count of first-degree child molestation. The charges have different levels of severity, indicating the varying degrees of severity of the alleged crimes. The assaults reportedly occurred between January 2012 and September 2022 in South Kingstown, though it is unclear how many victims there were and whether Gedeon is connected to any of them. The South Kingstown Police Chief has said that the charges are “the first step in finding justice for his young victims.” Gedeon will remain without bail at the ACI until his next court appearance on April 24.
