In Bristol, Rhode Island, a group of dolphins were spotted feeding in Mount Hope Bay on Tuesday afternoon, as reported by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM). The DEM posted a video of the dolphins on social media after their staff from the Office of Water Resources sighted them just north of the Mount Hope Bridge. The staff was conducting routine monitoring of shellfish water quality in Mount Hope Bay when they saw the dolphins following a large school of baitfish. While taking the opportunity to remind boaters to be cautious when encountering marine life, the DEM said that slowing down and giving marine wildlife space could help reduce the chance of collisions.
