Nearly 50 cats and kittens have arrived in Massachusetts and are in need of forever homes. According to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), the cats range in age from 6 months to 8 years old and have varying lengths of hair. They were brought from an overcrowded SPCA shelter in Texas and flown to the New Bedford Regional Airport for quarantine at the Northeast Animal Shelter (NEAS) in Salem. NEAS Assistant Director of Operations Jamie Garabedian stated that this transport is crucial for freeing up space in southern shelters during a time when more cats and kittens are likely to arrive. The cats will soon be available for adoption at NEAS. Several images of the cats and their transport were included in the original post.
