Today marks the start of the astronomical spring season with the vernal equinox occurring at 5:24 pm. Although temperatures remain in the 20s this morning, the afternoon will become milder than Sunday, with abundant sunshine and slightly above average highs reaching the mid 40s at the shore and upper 40s to low 50s inland. Winds become a bit breezy, with southwest gusts of 20-25 mph, and elevated fire weather risk is expected as a result. Skies will remain clear in the evening and overnight winds will diminish, with chilly lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. On Tuesday, clear skies will continue and temperatures will soar to the upper 50s to low 60s inland, making it the warmest day of the week.
