Three Massachusetts residents were apprehended early Saturday morning after a police chase that occurred between Avon and Milton. As per the Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 12:06 a.m. on Saturday, a trooper made an effort to stop a 2012 Toyota RAV4 that was being driven without a rear license plate or rear bumper. The RAV4 driver continued north on Route 24 in Avon without halting for the trooper. Police deployed a spike strip, which damaged the left side of the RAV4 tires, but the car kept fleeing, exiting the highway and turning onto Blue Hill River Road in Milton, where it ultimately stopped on Trout Brooke Avenue. As the troopers approached the car, five occupants jumped out of it and ran away. Troopers were able to take three of the five suspects into custody; they were identified as an 18-year-old male from Roxbury, a 16-year-old female from Brockton, and a 17-year-old male from Dorchester. All three suspects were charged with motor vehicle offenses, malicious destruction of property, and disturbing the peace. Law enforcement tried to locate the other two suspects using a K9 team, but they were unsuccessful.
