A Massachusetts man has been arrested for driving under the influence and causing a wrong-way crash in Rhode Island. The Rhode Island State Police received a 911 call early Sunday morning reporting a Honda Pilot driving south on Rt. 146 North. When the troopers arrived, they found the Honda had crashed head-on into a Hyundai, causing it to hit a Mercedes. The driver of the Honda, identified as Evan Baptiste, 23, of Worcester, Mass., was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, four counts of driving to endanger causing injury, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. The other drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. Baptiste was held overnight pending arraignment after processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks. He was not injured in the crash.
