Microsoft has introduced a new feature called Copilot that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) tools into its suite of office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook emails. This processing engine allows users to summarize long emails, draft stories in Word and animate slides in PowerPoint. Initially, the feature is only available for 20 enterprise customers, but Microsoft will roll it out for more enterprise customers in the coming months. Microsoft is marketing the tool as a way to increase productivity by freeing up time spent on emails and analyzing trends in Excel. The company will also introduce a chat function called Business Chat, which is similar to the popular ChatGPT, and uses user data to carry out commands like summarizing an email to co-workers. Google announced this week that it would also integrate generative AI tools into its own Workspace applications.
