A 14-year-old boy from North Providence has been charged for bringing a BB gun to school, according to police. The incident occurred on Thursday at North Providence High School, where a student notified a school resource officer that another student may have a gun on them. The freshman was later found and admitted to having a BB gun in his backpack, which was seized by authorities. The student has been charged with possession of weapons on school grounds, suspended indefinitely, and will require a safety evaluation if allowed back. The case has been turned over to family court.
