The No. 11 Providence College Friars are set to face off against the No. 6 Kentucky Wildcats in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It’s the first ever meeting between the two teams in the tournament and Providence is counting on the skills of their sophomore forward, Bryce Hopkins, who transferred from Kentucky. The matchup has a lot of interesting storylines, including Hopkins taking on his former team, the possibility of head coach Ed Cooley leaving for Georgetown, and a primetime slot on CBS. Other factors to watch out for include Kentucky’s star player, Oscar Tshiebwe, and their strong rebounding, as well as Providence’s guard play and familiarity with SEC opponents. If they win, Providence would be just one game away from returning to the Sweet 16 for the first time in decades. Tip-off is at 7:10 p.m. All images will be kept.
