The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is warning against scammers who are impersonating the organization, according to a report by WPRI. BBB said that some individuals are using emails with BBB logos and fake complaint numbers to steal information and money from businesses by asking the recipient to “review and sign” a document. In another scam, the perpetrator offers credit cards and loans under the guise of being from the BBB. Consumers and business owners are advised to report suspected scams to the BBB’s Scam Tracker page and contact their local BBB office. Other scams to watch out for include those involving PayPal, fake invoices, and tech support.
