A man from New Bedford who pleaded guilty to assault charges has been sentenced to six to eight years in prison, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office. Talib Allah was found guilty of stabbing another man at a bus depot. Allah and the victim had reportedly dated the same woman in the past. The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment while Allah fled the scene. Police later found him with dried blood on his hands, which belonged to the previous stabbing victim. Allah was on probation for a previous violent incident at the time of the stabbing and needs to be kept off the street to protect the public from his violent behavior, according to the DA.
