Two Cranston women, Ariana Anderson (24) and Julia Santucci (26), have been charged with animal cruelty after the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) rescued 20 rabbits from their apartment. The rabbits were found living in deplorable conditions in stacked dog crates, with most of them requiring veterinary care. Anderson and Santucci turned themselves in after a warrant was issued for their arrest and pleaded not guilty. The RISPCA hopes to put the rabbits up for adoption soon.
