Jim Feeney, a 60-year-old resident of Seekonk, Massachusetts, is embarking on a five-month, 10,000-mile bicycle ride around the perimeter of the United States to raise funds for SBP, a national disaster recovery and resilience organization. After volunteering with the nonprofit in 2009, Feeney was inspired to plan the charity ride to give back for all the blessings he has had in life. He hopes to raise more than $30,000, equivalent to the cost of rebuilding ten homes. The journey begins on April 3, with Feeney riding six days a week and covering about 75 miles per day. Anyone interested in supporting his ride can donate to SBP. Feeney previously completed a similar journey in 1996 when he raised $20,000 for two local charities.
