Following the stabbing of a security guard, a club in Providence has been instructed to shut down for 72 hours according to recent reports.

The disturbance was reported at VIVIX Restaurant & Lounge located on Broad Street at around 2 a.m. on Saturday, with the 45-year-old victim subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

After an emergency Board of Licenses hearing at the Providence Public Safety Complex later that day, the club was given the directive to close for three days.

The investigation surrounding the incident is ongoing at this time.
