The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 on Thursday night, breaking their 10-game winning streak. However, the victory was overshadowed by NHL’s scoring leader Connor McDavid limping off the ice in the third period after colliding knee-to-knee with teammate Derek Ryan. McDavid, who has scored 54 goals this season, was held scoreless for the first time in seven games this season. Despite leading 2-0 after one, the Bruins lost the game as Evan Bouchard and Ryan McLeod helped Oilers level the score in the second and third period, respectively. Stuart Skinner made 26 saves for the Oilers. The Bruins still require one win to become the quickest team ever to reach 50 wins in NHL history. McDavid holds the league’s top position in assists, goals, and points. Oilers will be visiting Toronto, while Bruins will host Detroit for their next match.
