The post features an image of Pine Island, Florida submerged in water. Bryant University sophomore Justin Battick and a team of 14 other students and staff will be spending their spring break volunteering to help people recover from Hurricane Ian. The team had previously spent their winter break in Florida rebuilding homes and will be using equipment from the Florida American Legion to continue their mission. Battick shared that they will be gutting homes and cleaning up the physical damages, as well as providing assistance to residents who are still dealing with the emotional impact of the storm. The Bryant Student Involvement Board had granted more than $20,000 to make the trip possible. Despite having the opportunity to spend his free time elsewhere, Battick chooses to help others instead and hopes to continue creating a positive impact for others in the future.
