The Big East Tournament has begun at Madison Square Garden, and the Providence College Friars had to wait before their first game against rival UConn at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. PC earned 13 Big East wins this season, and is tied with UConn in tournament history with each side having won two games in their four meetings. The last time they met in the tournament was in 1998. The Friars split the season series with UConn, with a 73-61 win at home in January and a 87-69 loss last month. PC Head Coach Ed Cooley expects an emotional game as the two fan bases are known to hate each other. The Big East Tournament is sold out.
