A man was arrested by New Bedford police for possessing a loaded handgun inside a children’s trampoline park, Funz.
The police were informed around 7 p.m. that a man with a gun was inside the park. Upon arrival, they found a suspect matching the description given.
Chantra Say, 32, of Fall River, tried to hand a bag to another person when he saw the police, but was refused. He then threw the bag into a nearby garbage bin as he was stopped by several officers. The police found a loaded 9mm handgun with 13 rounds of ammunition in the bag after a search.
Say initially refused to identify himself, but once he was identified, the police found out that he is currently on probation out of Bristol County Superior Court for assault with intent to commit murder and possession of a firearm for his involvement in a shooting in 2010. Say has been charged with carrying a high-capacity firearm, possession of ammunition, and resisting arrest.
