The University of Rhode Island’s Police Chief and Public Safety Director, Michael Jagoda, has been named a finalist for the Campus Safety Director of the Year award by Campus Safety Magazine. Jagoda expressed his gratitude for the recognition and credited his team’s hard work for their achievements. As the director of public safety and chief of police since 2021, Jagoda oversees several departments and has worked to ensure that all officers on campus undergo social justice and inclusion training. With his help, URI’s campus has been recognized as one of the safest in the country. The winner of the award will be revealed in July, and Jagoda is the only nominee from New England.
